Sagittarius

Wants a companion for the road rather than a witness at home. Sagittarius is warm, funny and honest to a fault, and will tell you the difficult truth in the first month rather than the fifth year. It needs room; a partner who grants it freely gets a far more committed Sagittarius than one who fences it in.

Collects people across countries and keeps them loosely, warmly, for decades. The bluntness is real and occasionally lands badly, and the apology is usually immediate and genuine. What Sagittarius gives friends is perspective — the reminder, delivered at exactly the right moment, that the thing you are drowning in is smaller than it looks.

Teaching, publishing, travel, law, sport, anything with a horizon and an idea worth arguing for. Sagittarius sells a vision better than it manages a spreadsheet, and does badly in a role with a low ceiling — not from arrogance but from claustrophobia. The best careers here are the ones that kept expanding.

Sagittarius rules the hips, the thighs and the liver. It is the sign most likely to injure itself doing something enjoyable, and most likely to be back too soon. Excess is the theme — food, drink, work, optimism — and the body absorbs a great deal before it complains. Movement outdoors is not recreation here, it is maintenance.

The search is the point, but at some stage the searching has to produce something. Sagittarius spends its first decades gathering experience and its later ones deciding what it actually believes. The version that arrives is a teacher of some kind, formally or not — the freedom finally has a subject.
